 With the online publication of cameos of 21 National Nature Reserves in Wales, Wales.info and Google Earth have come together once again; this time to produce a unique fly-by tour of the reserves that’s fun to use as well as educational. All the featured reserves welcome visitors throughout the year and you can find accommodation within or close by the reserves.

The tour begins with a view of a spinning Earth, from an altitude of 15,000 miles above the American continent. With Earth.Wales.info, you are in control with navigation instruments in the top-right corner of the screen that allow you to control your direction and rate of descent. |

As you descend to an altitude of just over 6,000 miles, the Earth spins round to Europe and the British Isles comes into view. |

Descending further to an altitude of just under 200 miles, all the Nature Reserves in Wales appear as the satellite image begins to show details of the terrain. |

Even at this altitude it’s possible to click on the individual sites to get more information on each of the reserves but if you want to get an idea of the lay of the land and have some fun you can adjust your angle of approach and ‘fly by’ each reserve as you wish. |
